The Course

Eighteen Holes
Of Mature Parkland

Golf has been played here since 1895. Downfield is one of Scotland's finest parkland courses and a proud member of the Association of James Braid Courses. Eighteen holes of mature, tree-lined parkland — pine and broadleaf, a stone bridge crossing and subtle changes in elevation — playing to a par of 73 from the back.

The Layout

A Real Test,
Fairly Set

The course plays to a par of 73 from the back tees, out in 36 and home in 37. Generous off the tee in places, tight and thoughtful in others — a round that rewards a straight ball and true putting. Men's and ladies' tees throughout.

The Greens

Quick and
True

Downfield's greens are known for running quick and true. Read them well and the course gives up its share of birdies; miss in the wrong place and par gets interesting. Bring every club in the bag.

A Mature

Tree-lined fairways, a stone bridge crossing the burn and a comfortable clubhouse waiting at the last. Trolleys, buggies and bag hire are available, and the lounge looks out over the 18th once the card is signed.
